ThinkFast® was developed in 1997 as a program that would non-intrusively expose participants to, and educate them about, important information about the custom topic (e.g. consequences of underage drinking, drug use, bullying, traffic safety, distracted driving, etc.) while simultaneously entertaining them in a safe, relaxed and fun environment.
The goal was to use our expertise in entertainment production to develop an interesting educational program that would directly engage hundreds of individuals for the entire duration of the presentation. It was important to produce ThinkFast® in a manner that was team oriented to encourage participants to interact as a group, thereby mutually acknowledging facts about important awareness topics with their peers. Employing the use of Audience Response Technology (wireless keypads as shown in the photo below) was a key factor in connecting the audience to the message, and promoting team play. We also intended for the program to be as stimulating and captivating as possible to avoid the pitfalls of typical awareness lectures and presentations. ThinkFast® successfully retains the entire audience’s attention and focus from start to finish!
Combining custom awareness content with state of the art technology, age relevant entertainment, elaborate staging and a charismatic host, ThinkFast® became the culmination of our ultimate vision; its recipe was original, innovative and effective. ThinkFast® has since successfully executed the objective of hundreds of awareness programmers across the United States, increasing the knowledge of its participants, and in turn, promoting healthy behaviors.
In recent years, government agencies have utilized third-party professional consultants to develop and implement Pre and Post test surveys in an effort to measure the effectiveness of the program in high schools across the United States. In every study, the data has revealed that ThinkFast® has indeed increased the level of knowledge of its participants. A one-of-a-kind production, ThinkFast® is a worthwhile investment and positive solution to the challenge of effectively educating today’s youth, thereby giving them the opportunity to make healthy decisions. Awareness coalitions, universities and experts agree that ThinkFast® connects with, and educates, its audience well beyond the typical lecture format.
A testament to its success, ThinkFast® has won awards for over 10 years running by various associations, including, Campus Activities’ Reader’s Choice Entertainment Awards and the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA). It is the preeminent awareness program of choice by BACCHUS Network, CADCA, National Orientation Directors Association and other university-related health networks and associations. Due to the incredible support of our diverse client base, ThinkFast® now tours 5 productions across the United States each year, and continues to expand into new markets.
Mission
The choices kids are faced with today are absolutely mind-boggling, and the consequences of those choices can be dangerous—even potentially lethal. Our philosophy is to provide students with information that can facilitate choices that will promote a healthy, exciting educational experience that carries on to the real world. With an impressive, award-winning track record, ThinkFast® caters to participants of all ages and interests by combining state of the art technology, entertainment, and age-relevant awareness information.
There is a greater likelihood that the behavior in the prevention message will be adopted when multiple channels for spreading the prevention message are used. School-based programs alone may not reach those who are at highest risk for drug abuse, including school dropouts, chronic absentees, runaways, and gang members. By using multiple channels (schools, parents, community organizations, mass media, and policy), the skills which are learned initially in the ThinkFast® program are reinforced by a consistent community social norm for non-drug use. Greater message consistency is likely to lead to more rapid formulation of non-drug use attitudes, intentions, and behavior.
